The Sign of the Cross
Three girls were walking along the railway tracks and found themselves between two oncoming trains, but all three remained alive. Nearby stood demons, who were heatedly arguing:
- Why didn't you push the first one under the train? - they shouted at one. - Her soul would have been ours!
- I couldn't: she was wearing a cross!
- And why did you hesitate? The second one was without a cross! - they shouted at another.
- She might not have had a cross, but she made the sign of the cross over herself.
- Well, and you, why did you gawk? The third one is a complete non-believer!
- That might be so, but her mother crossed her before the journey and said, "Go with God!"
